Dear Karl,
I am new to this site. I have only read a sample of your
work. I initially was looking up hyperimmune egg products
information since I have Fibromyalgia, plus other
illnesses associated with it. I liked your common sense
approach and intend on reading as much on your site as I
can, over time.
The We Move link has given me important information
regarding problems I have that doctors include within the
FMS. I want to stress to them the importance of
recognizing separate illness, factors rather than just
joint and tiredness problems.
I agree with your approach about psycho drugs. I grew up
around people who took them. The were as vegetables,
deteriating with time. However, I strongly oppose them
since they do not make a person better, and the more I
read about them, the more I find my theory to be correct.
I have a good education and common sense with which to
make my own decisions about my body. I also agree with
your opinion of psychiatrists and pharmaceutical
companies.
I was diagnosed with FMS May 2001. Until then, I dealt
with numerous health problems as best I could. I just
didn't know that all together they had a name, so I knew
it could not be in my head. I am in the process of
evaluating and trying vitamins, herbs, etc. to get
better. The doctors have not helped me. My symptoms grew
worse just by telling me I had FMS and there was no cure.
I feel I have a lot of things to do with my life, and did
not have time to be sick. Religiously, I know I do, so I
have to get better, or at least as well as I can get. I
have had to deal with not being able to do a lot of
things. It hurts the most since I cannot enjoy doing
activities with my 6 year old child. I have learned to
save my strength for him.
I know I can get better, but not normal. Of course, I was
never normal. Like you, I always took up for the
underdog, and voiced my opinion although it was different
from the norm. I am proud not to be one of the norm.
I do not require a response to this letter, however, any
information, ideas, thoughts, etc. you can give me will
be appreciated.
Remember, I am new to FMS help and want to get as much
information about it so that I can make informed,
educated, common sense decisions.
I was immediately impressed with your site and even more
intrigued after spending about 2 hours on it, so I
decided to read your free book. I cannot wait to seek out
information as well as your opinions pertaining to me as
well as other opinions on your site.
I am not easily impressed, nor easily persuaded. I have
found out more on your site than 100's of other FMS sites
which I searched and read for about 4 months.
Feel free to quote me, if you want.
Thanks for caring,
Mary McKinney
