[Karl Note: The many links below are alive.  Pick your state or area, click, and read the statistics for your area.  This will help you put the reality of national statistics more personal -- your state.  I've done this for a few areas and the links work fine from this page.  You can spend many hours on the web you will be going to -- well documented information about the state of morality in these areas -- if you accept, for instance, births to unwed mothers, etc., as indicators of lack of a working moral code.  Take some time and check out your state.  Follow the links for some distance and see how your area compares to other areas.
