The way Heather sees it, a lot of bad decisions were caused by her bi-polar behavior and she admits she may not be in the best condition to care for Orion.

[Karl note:  So-called mental diseases have been increasingly blamed for child abuse -- this is one of the most evil of hidden secrets in our society -- how psychiatric drugs CAUSE people to become violent, and child abusers -- those who claim that they harmed their own child because of mental disease have often been driven into the violence by the very drug which is claimed to "help" them.]

The woman accused of abandoning her sick child while vacationing at Disneyland is in more trouble with the law. Last month we told you that a 20-year-old Stockton woman allegedly refused to pick up her son from Dameron Hospital because she wanted to go to Disneyland. Now KOVR 13 has learned that same woman is behind bars accused of two robberies. Gloria Gomez talked to the woman in jail and has more on this case.

Heather's troubles began last month when Orion was brought to a hospital sick with pneumonia.

Three-month-old Orion Uphuff is too young to realize his life is in limbo.

His mom, 20-year-old Heather Walker, sits in the county jail for allegedly robbing two Stockton convenience stores with a BB gun.

Heather Walker / Accused of Abandoning Baby: "I didn't put my child at first thought when I did this, and I should have."

Heather's troubles began last month when Orion was brought to a hospital sick with pneumonia. Police say instead of sticking around, Heather headed south to Disneyland.

Heather Walker / Accused of Abandoning Baby: "I'm not trying to say that what I did was right or normal. All I know is that I didn't give up my son to be where he's at. I love my son and I'm still trying to fight for my son."

While she sits in jail Heather knows that custody fight could get even tougher, especially knowing Heather's mom wants Orion with her.

Cindy Coffield / Baby's Grandmother: "We are doing everything we can to get the baby with us."

The way Heather sees it, a lot of bad decisions were caused by her bi-polar behavior and she admits she may not be in the best condition to care for Orion.

Heather Walker / Accused of Abandoning Baby: "I know right now he is better off being where he is at this point. I know I need a lot of work."

Whomever finally ends up winning custody of baby Orion, it is clear both sides are losing out on a baby growing up in the hands of strangers.

Heather Walker / Accused of Abandoning Baby: "He makes all these new sounds and cooing noises and I wish I could say that's all for me."
