The "World View" of "What Is Truth?"

The first reference, "The Truth Is . . ." was the lead term in an unsolicited eMail I received recently, and quoted below.  The data in that message has no simple connection with any common search term related to the term or the name of the "company." This email to me sounds like a normal "dating service" -- a fancy name for a porn sight.   You should realize that SPAM costs the sender almost zero per message.  They purchase a list of one million eMail addresses. They don't care how many of those are not valid. They send out their Spam. There will be some cost, depending on what program or services they use to send the message.  If they get 0.00000001% response, they will make a profit, particularly for a video that brings them more visits, and money, for a porn sight.  I don't know, of course, but I do know that such CAN exist in this internet world.

As I went on, then, entering into the search engine the phrase, "the truth is" I found listings that were not even pretending to be philosophical, such as "truth and fiction about tobacco" and such.  I continued to look, for references that sounded something like they really wanted to answer the question of "the truth is" which is a truly intriguing philosophical question.

I then found links to webs about the various religions.  While these may have tried to present "truth" about Muslims, for instance, I did not see that they were attempting to "define" truth, in a non-religious sense, so passed by them, and those like them.

Remember that MY effort to come up with a definition of truth is done so as to serve as the basis of a moral code.  I have already discarded a source of truth based on God, or any religious principal, since any such, as far as I have seen, can only "come to us" through the tongue of some human, and are thus explanations of truth provably only related to the opinion of a MAN. That could be OK, but my effort has been to find a definition of truth that was non-religious and could be agreed to by any religion, and would be logical within the common sense understandings that man has, without reference to spirit.

Those who prefer may decide to define truth ONLY on the basis of some religious, or spiritual concept. That is fine for them. That is not what I have been looking for.

Many web sites proclaim the equivalent of "the truth is here" but then quickly narrow down to something like "the truth about tobacco" or "the truth about big government" or some such. These are not basic definitions of "what is truth?"
